2025 was another powerful reminder that when we come together we can really make a difference.

Every bottle-for-life refilled, every cardboard pack of laundry capsules bought, every grouped delivery, every Donate a Wash plan selected… so many simple, small selections which came together to build something really rather wonderful!

And when we added it all up across the year, the impact spoke for itself.

truly lighter on the planet.

By choosing concentrated refills, cardboard packs and smarter delivery, our community helped avoid:

  • 502 tonnes of plastic
  • 1,016 tonnes of chemicals
  • 4,833 tonnes of carbon

That’s across more than 7 million orders over the past 12 months. We think it highlights perfectly what happens when you design products to be lighter, more concentrated and less wasteful. When you’re delivering in large volumes… the impact starts to skyrocket.

fewer deliveries and less waste.

One of the biggest changes this year that happened behind the scenes, was the rollout of our grouped delivery option. It allows customers to opt for their smol to arrive bundled up together in fewer deliveries instead of sending multiple parcels separately. Delivering in this way reduces:

  • delivery emissions
  • transport miles
  • unnecessary packaging

In 2025 alone, 500,125 orders were delivered in this way and we expect even bigger reductions for 2026.

understanding our emissions fully.

This year, we completed our first full greenhouse gas emissions inventory, which now gives us a clear picture of our complete carbon footprint. What did we find?

The vast majority of emissions comes from the making of our products and their use in the home. Knowing this will help how we:

  • design future products (especially ones that work brilliantly at lower temperatures)
  • encourage our customers to choose habits that cut emissions and household bills
  • focus our carbon-cutting efforts where they matter most

smol site move.

In 2025, we also moved to an exciting shiny new site! This move brought so many benefits to our people, the planet, and our operations.

  • 100% renewable energy at the site
  • better energy efficiency and LED lighting
  • reusable systems that removed plastic pallet wrap
  • waste tracking across operations
  • improved working conditions, wellbeing spaces and safety standards

hygiene poverty progress.

Hygiene poverty remains a hidden crisis and it’s one we’re committed to fighting. 2025 saw:

  • 1.5 million washes donated
  • 10% of UK customers take part in Donate a Wash
  • 35 new washing machines installed via our Suds in Schools scheme (taking the total to 127 sites nationwide)

Our Marked Absent campaign in 2025 shone a light on the reality that millions of UK children miss school each year due to lack of access to clean uniforms. It truly reinforced why this work matters.

people.

And as for the impact of smol this past year on our people and customers… in 2025 we:

  • continued anti-greenwashing training across the team
  • maintained key certifications such as B Corp, Allergy UK and Leaping Bunny
  • improved how we listen to customer feedback
  • grew smol circle to 24,000 members
  • answered over 150,000 customer emails

so what’s up for 2026?

Here’s just a few of the items we’re working on for the year ahead:

  • cutting secondary packaging
  • reducing chemicals further without compromising performance
  • launching sensitive product options
  • finalising and publishing our greenhouse gas reduction plan
  • growing Suds in Schools to 200+ schools
  • increasing Donate a Wash participation to 15% of customers

We’re excited for the challenge ahead. But of course this is only a snapshot of the full picture and if you’d like to dig deeper into the data, governance, methodology and detailed plans for 2026, you can explore our full 2025 Impact Report here.
