Ever spotted the Skin Health Alliance logo on one of our products and wondered what it actually means?
It's a little logo that sits unassumingly on pack, but says something very important.

What is the Skin Health Alliance?
The Skin Health Alliance is an independent, dermatologist-led organisation dedicated to improving skin confidence and understanding through science, education and expert guidance.
It works with independent dermatologists and scientists to review products and help consumers identify what meets high standards for skin safety.
Accreditation is not easy but it’s worthwhile because:
- They're independent experts.
- They believe in educating the consumer
- They’re not part of smol!
To gain accreditation ingredients are reviewed alongside things like how a product performs and what the safety information has to say.
This is all then evaluated by independent dermatologists before accreditation is awarded.
Why does this matter?
Cleaning products come into contact with our skin all the time. Washing Up Liquid touches your hands when you wash up, Fabric Conditioner sits on clothing next to your skin, we use Foaming Handwash multiple times a day, covering our hands in it before rinsing.
So choosing products designed with skin in mind makes sense.
That's exactly why we created our Sensitive range.

Sensitive skin? We've got you.
People often think "Sensitive" means products are only for people with diagnosed skin conditions. We don't.
At smol, sensitive simply means thoughtful formulation. Products designed to be:
- Exceptionally gentle on skin
- Brilliant at cleaning
- Made for everyday life
No matter whether you have sensitive skin, prefer gentler products, or just like knowing that your cleaning products have been independently reviewed… we’ve got you.
Which smol products are Skin Health Alliance accredited?
You'll find the Skin Health Alliance logo across our growing Sensitive range.
Product | Fragrance | Accreditation | Best for |
Fresh laundry scent | Skin Health Alliance | Everyday laundry
No scent | Skin Health Alliance Allergy UK | Those who want no perfume or colour
Fresh laundry scent | Skin Health Alliance | Liquid lovers and handwashing clothes
Peach & Jasmine | Skin Health Alliance | Extra softness
Aloe Vera | Skin Health Alliance | Hardworking hands
Cucumber & Rose | Skin Health Alliance | Everyday handwashing |

Gentle doesn't mean boring.
For years "sensitive" products often removed all scent (like our brilliant Non-Bio Fragrance-Free Laundry Capsules), but we don’t think it has to be that way.
Some people genuinely want fragrance-free products, but others simply want products that feel a little gentler while still smelling beautiful, like our blue Non-Bio Laundry Capsules and Non-Bio Laundry Liquid.
That's why many of our Sensitive products use carefully crafted fragrances (hello Peach & Jasmine Sensitive Fabric Conditioner). Because sensitive doesn't have to mean boring.
The reassurance is huge.
So yes, the Skin Health Alliance logo might look tiny. But it represents something much bigger.
- Independent experts
- Dermatological review
- Thoughtful formulation
And products designed to be exceptionally gentle on skin while still delivering the brilliant cleaning performance you'd expect from smol.
That's something we're very proud of.
